"NETS was founded in 1985 to establish Singapore's national PIN Debit scheme, NETS EFTPOS (Electronic Funds Transfer at Point-of-Sale), propelling Singapore into the age of electronic payments. NETS is the scheme operator, processor and acquirer of the service.
Today, NETS offer multiple payment and financial processing services and is the largest merchant acquirer in Singapore. As well as processing the bulk of Singapore's online debit transactions, NETS also provides local and regional ATM switching services for banks. The company also processes Internet/Mobile payments via direct debit or credit card, via its eNETS service, and is an issuer of two stored value cards - the NETS CashCard and NETS FlashPay card.
